Software Communications Architecture (SCA)
Key components of an SCA are a programming Core Framework, a middleware platform (CORBA) and a hardware abstraction layer (usually API's, drivers, and OS). The SCA is customized to the customer's platform and application.
Although waveform and service applications can employ drivers or OS calls to directly access hardware, applications should employ the CF and middleware (CORBA) for true hardware independence.
The SCA has been adopted bye by the United States, Canada, Sweden, and Japan. The latest SCA design specification can be downloaded from the JTRS. SCA Technica, Inc. can design your SCA software architecture, and provide commercially supported SCA 2.2 and 2.2.2 compliant CF and other components into your tactical radio.
